Sparking Zero Fan Adds Goku’s False Super Saiyan Transformation

[ad_1]

Key Takeaways

  • For as many forms of Goku that there is in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, False Super Saiyan is missing.
  • Fear not, however, as a fan found a way to mod False Super Saiyan Goku into the game, complete with a new HUD icon.
  • Prior to Goku turning into a true Super Saiyan, he flashed some promise against Lord Slug.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is finally here, and the game’s massive roster boasts characters from nearly every era of Akira Toriyama’s iconic series. That giant roster size includes more forms of Goku than we have fingers to count on.

However, for as many forms of Goku that the game has, including the long-awaited debut of Ultra Instinct Goku, there is one form that is missing. That form being False Super Saiyan from the often forgotten Lord Slug movie.

Fear not, however, as a fan has found a way to mod the one-off version of Goku into the game. Not only that, but they managed to add a new Face HUD icon to the game to help round out the experience.

Xenoverse is all about alternate scenarios, but Sparking Zero’s what-if battles are all far more interesting and surprising.

The OG Super Saiyan Is Here

As discovered on Twitter, a Sparking Zero fan and modder added Goku (Early) False SSJ. Currently, it’s a work in progress, meaning that it isn’t available for anyone to download. That said, it doesn’t look like it’ll be too long before anyone can get their hands on it.

Naturally, the creator shared a video of this version of Goku going toe-to-toe with Lord Slug. Oh, and the video is set to Disturbed’s Stupify, a song that was an integral part of the movie.

Origins Of False SSJ

While many are familiar with Goku’s iconic Super Saiyan transformation and how it was triggered in the anime, a version of Super Saiyan was teased as early as the Lord Slug movie.

Technically speaking, the movie isn’t necessarily canon, as it takes place in a jumbled timeline between the Saiyan and Namek sagas. Still, it did give fans a first look at what eventually would become Super Saiyan.

Pushed to his limits against Slug, Goku tapped into all of his strength and let out his anger to seemingly transform. It didn’t last long, and the conditions of “mental” anguish weren’t present to trigger a true Super Saiyan transformation.

Still, it was a neat moment in an otherwise neat movie. Seriously, the Dragon Ball movies are awesome. And now, courtesy of a fan, it won’t be long before we can recreate that fight. Might we suggest pairing that matchup with the recently released AMV mod that turns the game into a 2000s YouTube video? Nostalgia is truly awesome.
