If you save the footage, Gwen storms off, upset that you didn’t support her. Then, if you tell her that you know about her killing Gwen’s book deal, she asks if you snooped in her stuff before leaving.

At the beginning of Chapter 3, while you’re looking at all your evidence so far in the dark room, you finally get the chance to look at the footage. Max mentions it’s weird that Gwen is looking directly at the security camera, like she knew she was being recorded and would get in trouble.

You, of course, learn later that that was Safi pretending to be Gwen to get Gwen back for killing her book deal.

The next time you see Living World Gwen is during Chapter 3 Scene 4: Nobody Wants to Drink Alone. She’ll be sitting alone at one of the booths in The Snapping Turtle.

Talk to her and Max will give her the thumbdrive back. Max tells Gwen that it’s weird and suggests that she should take a look at it and fight it.

Then, during the Krampus Party in Chapter 4, Gwen reports that it was very weird, but the board fired her anyway. She then decides to help you and Safi with taking down Lucas.

Finally, after the events of Chapter 5, Gwen shows up at The Snapping Turtle. When you and her talk, she mentions that she’s gonna see if she can argue her way back in and get her job back.

If you do not give Gwen the thumbdrive and tell her to fight the accusations in Chapter 3, things will turn out with Gwen as if you destroyed the footage.

What Happens If You Stand With Gwen

Gwen And Max Watching The Footage Burn In Life Is Strange: Double Exposure.

Choose to stand with Gwen, and the two of you will watch the thumb drive burn for a moment. She thanks you for listening and standing with her.

Whether or not you talk to her at The Snapping Turtle in Chapter 3, the board fires Gwen, she doesn’t help you and Safi confront Lucas in Chapter 4, and she doesn’t show up at the end of Chapter 5.

Ultimately, the choice is up to you. However, we preferred the outcome of saving the footage and telling Gwen later to fight. At the end of Chapter 5, when she tells you that she’s going to try for her job back, she says, “I failed Safi, but there’s other students here I can still support. I won’t just let it go.”
